When Is the Best Time to Perform Umrah?

Ramadan — the Season of Reward

An Umrah in Ramadan equals a Hajj in reward, as the Prophet ﷺ taught. Expect the largest crowds and the highest prices — and an atmosphere unlike anything else on earth.

Winter (November–February)

Mild weather in the mid-20s °C makes long hours of worship comfortable. Prices are moderate and school holidays bring families.

The Quiet Months

Late Muharram through Rabi' al-Thani typically see the smallest crowds and the best hotel rates — ideal for elderly pilgrims and anyone seeking unhurried worship close to the Kaaba.

Summer

Daytime heat is intense, but hotels are cheapest and the Haram's air-conditioned expansions make worship comfortable indoors.

Whichever season you choose, book 2–3 months ahead for the best combination of price and hotel proximity.
